MY NEW YEAR’S DAY HANGOVER.

Hangover the side of a mountain, that is.

True to my word, I behaved myself admirably on New Year’s Eve. And to celebrate, my wife, brother-in-law, another couple and I went on an excruciatingly long (yet excruciatingly picturesque) hike through the mountains of La Pedriza near Madrid.

The photo above is just a bit a showing-off. I wasn’t in any danger—provided that my left hand didn’t cramp.

Sal, always so modest. You didn't mention the fight with the yeti. After five hours of a exhausting climbing you still had the guts and strength to beat that hairy beast that for so long has freightened the citizens in Manzanares El Real... Don't you remember?

Yeti? No, no, no...her name was Betty. And we weren't fighting. We were dancing Merengue.

She was awfully hairy, though.

Oh, then it was me who was suffering from the new year's day hangover; or maybe hypoxia. Anyway, still you had the guts and strength to dance merengue between those huge rocks.
