Happy Birthday, Super Girl!
What a cutie.
Superinés, thanks a lot for inviting me to your party. I had a great time. Sorry that I had to leave so early, but I was starving, and, you know, vampires only get our bloody reward when the sun goes down. Hope you enjoyed it. See you soon. Uncle Dracula.
Thank you Iron Man...and Christina.
Her birthday is October 29, so I threw her a birthday/Halloween party. Fourteen costumed 3 year olds thrashed my basement and tortured my cats, but it was great fun.
I made it a Halloween-themed party, because in my six years living in Spain...I've never had a trick or treater ring my doorbell. I just assumed that it wasn't done.
But this year (in fact, tonight...right now...as I sit her sweating), I have been flooded with trick or treaters. I've had at least 50 at my door. During the first couple groups, I luckily had a bunch of leftover candy from the birthday party. But thirty minutes ago, I had to make an emergency candy run at the local Eroski. And now...that's almost gone. It's unbelievable ! From nothing to a stampede, all within the one year.
BTW...this Spanish kids are gluttonous little bastards. I had assumed that the "one piece of candy per kid rule" was universally understood. But now I know...it's only practiced in the US. The chicos here will keep snatching candy until you smack 'em in the head. Then they'll try to take another.
Whew! Time for a glass of wine. And in this house, there is not "one glass per person" rule.
Sal
Wow, 50 trick-or-treaters! I'd love that. We had about 5 last year, two days early (!), and today a small group showed up around 2 p.m. but that was it. I think next year they may catch on.
I bet the birthday party was a blast. And that your cats will be ignoring you for at least a week.
What a beautiful little girl!
