I'M SO WHAT?

This VTB tends to be a politics-free zone. That's intentional, and I do it for several reasons.

First, I value all seven of my readers and don't want to risk alienating any of them.

Second, let's be honest. The only thing more boring than politics is being forced to listen to another person's views about politics.

And third...the last time that your virtual bartender ventured outside of the politics-free zone, he got his fingers burnt.

It's with that background in mind that I remained merrily aloof vis-a-vis the pivotal mid-term elections that took place last night in the US. And now that the results are in, please allow me one fleeting moment outside "the zone."

Jack, Eric, Ginger...take it away!

[Oh yeah. Don't forget...COCONUT!]

I'm glad! The pina colada I made for myself at 11:30 last night when I got home from work also helped! And then I tried to do some ironing, which I don't recommend anyone try when they've consumed alcohol. ;)

Christina -- Mr. DeTraglia, of VTB and Salivator fame, has graciously agreed to meet Shane and I for drinks in Madrid. I'll finally have a "brush with celebrity" story! (Besides the time my family was driving through Beverly Hills about 10 years ago, and everyone saw Bruce Willis drive by in a Duesenberg, except me, because I was look at a bird or something... story of my life.)

At least Rummy resigned, & there are a few more Dems in congress.

Yep. Although Ang's fiance fears that I might be a serial killer on the lam, they are going to ignore the risk and meet me for a few rounds in Madrid next Monday or Tuesday. We'll drink a toast to democracy.

And to COCONUT!

Oh oh oh, the red wine was broken out here ... I'm so glad too, actually.

So politics on a blog is boring and stuff?

Wow, what could be more fun than drinks in Madrid with Sal? We'll definitely need autographed pictures in honour of the event.

(Ahhhh! My word verification word nearly made me go blind - "wznmmz" in bright green)

"Take it away!" has given me a great idea!
Takeaway Tapas! I wonder whether they exist!

Lady Di: Boring in anyone else's hands but yours.

Christina: What could be better? Drinks in *Chicago* with Sal, methinks.

Cream: Well...look who's back from Algeria! I can assure you that takeaway tapas don't exist in Spain; although they probably do exist elsewhere.

In some sense, aren't Chicken McNuggets really just takeaway tapas?

My God! I can't believe I just said that!

Let me say this: COCONUT!

Sal (consumed with boredom on yet-another of Spain's seemingly never-ending steam of holidays)

The soap would probably taste better, Cream.
